Anotation:

Significant environmental and evolution events took place during the Triassic/Jurassic boundary. Profile studies of the Triassic/Jurassic boundary formations of the Western Carpathians are therefore of a high importance. In viewpoint of evaluation of paleogeographic, paleoecologic and especially paleoclimatic conditions and their changes during the Triassic/Jurassic boundary, they represent important formations. Therefore, the project aims to solve problems of composition, sources and material transport of the Triassic/Jurassic boundary formations in the Vysoké Tatry Mts, using complex petrographic and geochemical approaches. Moreover, it will clarify the weathering intensity in the source area, paleoclimatic conditions, tectonic mobility, and geodynamic developments and test the validity of existing paleogeographic models.
